Prototyping 5

Reusing scraps of blue foam - making a stencil to trace both the handle and the spout. The base will be made seperately.

Rounding the spour off with sandpaper, follow the curve down to the end profile.

Think how this could be made in rhino - have a good understanding of the cross-sections of the prototype, will make it easier later on.

After drawing the plan profile, slowly draw the shape downwards using a file and some sandpaper.

Check for a good fit, the end of the spout that connects to the base will need to be hollowed out to match the curvature of the base unit.

Always better to have more blue foam than less blue foam.

Trim the shape down so it looks equal in comparison to the rest of the components - spout/base

Fill in the join lines - makes it neater but also gives a good idea of how the CAD will play out - how big do I want the fillet on those surfaces?

Able to sand the wood filler down to a good finish. The shape is much more crisp and realistic.

A potential final? Work on some other forms and shapes.
